Team 2 arrived on March 19th from Michigan and hit the ground running on Wednesday morning. They started fabricating and welding the school addition roof rafters and by the end of Work Day 1, had them all built. On Work Day 2, they welded together the roof purlins. All rafters and purlins then had to be painted with oil based paint to protect from rust and oxidation. On Day 3, the rafters were carried by hand over to the school and hoisted up onto the 2nd story wall. All were welded into place and the purlins were then applied over the rafters. On Saturday, the team tied the two roofs together with jack rafters, metal valleys, and extended the purlins to the other roof.
