EGO UPDATE:
As many of you know, Don & Doris Peavey left for the United States on June 9th to visit family, friends, and supporters. Running the day to day administrative duties, temporarily, are Pastor Steve Saintus and his wife Esther. They are from Kennesaw, Georgia. Steve most recently co-pastored a small church in this area. He also does tax work as an accountant. Steve received both his under-graduate and Master of Divinity degrees from Trinity, an Evangelical Free affiliated university in the Chicago area. He is a student of God’s Word, with an emphasis on both the Hebrew & Greek languages, using hermunetics (Biblical principles of interpretation).  I first met them last summer in Port au Prince, while visiting a niece of a missionary couple from my church in Robins, Iowa. She was part of a large group of students working in Haiti for a month with a mission group. They were all staying at the same guest house. Steve & Esther have both lived in the states for the past 25 years, traveling to Haiti yearly to visit family and friends. However, the past few years, God has been speaking to them both about returning to Haiti. They did not have any idea of where to go or what God would have them do. Only that He wanted them in Haiti. When the earthquake hit last January, they both have spent a considerable amount of money and time in assisting family and friends with re-building. Is EGO the work that God wants them involved in? Possibly. They exhibit a real love for the kids here. The kids all respond in kind to them. Most all are welcoming the changes that have made already. Please pray that the EGO board meeting this weekend will discuss a possible appointment. Let us all pray that God will place the leaders He wants at EGO as the mission enters it's 4th decade of outreach and service to Haiti!
